Abstract:

A method and apparatus for arbitrating access to a memory, which has a plurality of banks. The method includes arbitrating with a plurality of processors. Each processor is associated with one of a plurality of data ports and has a plurality of arbitration cycles, including a current cycle and a most recent cycle preceding the current cycle. Each processor receives memory access requests from all of the data ports, wherein each memory access request is associated with one of the memory banks. Each processor selectively grants the data port associated with that processor access to the memory for the current cycle based on the banks associated with the memory access requests of each data port, the data port that was granted access to the memory during the preceding cycle, and the memory bank that was accessed during the preceding cycle.

Abstract:

One embodiment of the present invention provides a system that controls access to personally identifiable information (PII) in a database system. During operation, the system receives a request from an application to perform a function which involves accessing information in the database system. In response to the request, the system identifies a purpose that the application has in making request to perform the function. Next, the system uses the purpose to identify a set of attributes in the database system, which are associated with the purpose. The system then determines if any of the identified attributes contain PII. If so, the system enforces access controls while accessing the identified attributes containing PII.

Abstract:

Systems and methods are provided that comprise a security policy verification system for verifying security policies. The system parses programming language code that implements security policies, and identifies annotations in the programming language code. The system then matches the annotations to the security policies to which the annotations correspond. The system then displays a natural language description of the security policy in a user interface.

A system and accompanying method adapted to facilitate folder structure and authorization mirroring between a Document management System (DMS) and an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). An example method includes providing a first user option to view a representation of a database structure of a database application of an ERP system; displaying a second user option to select a portion of the representation of the database structure; and offering a third user option to create a folder structure for a Document Management System (DMS) based on the selected portion of the representation of the database structure. Abstract:

Embodiments of the present invention are directed to a tethering enforcement device controller and methods thereof. The tethering enforcement device controller (TEDC) is installed on a primary device, or otherwise known as the tethered device. The TEDC is configured to detect, control and block unauthorized or inappropriate tethering with a secondary device, or otherwise known as the tethering device, via either a native or a third-party tethering application, by retrieving a configuration file from a server associated with a wireless carrier. The configuration file typically includes customer profile and currently blacklisted package names of third-party tethering applications. The customer profile typically includes subscription information, including use of tethering services. If the customer is trying to tether and tethering is not allowed, then the TEDC will prevent the secondary device from tethering with the primary device. In some embodiments, the TEDC is an untethering application installed on the primary device.
