Abstract:

A towing dolly is provided for relocating wheeled loads such as boat trailers, camping trailers and airplanes where towing forces required may be substantial. The towing dolly may have a wheel assembly with a drive gear disposed between proximate treads. The towing dolly may have a narrow wheel width providing easy steering and compact size for storage. The towing dolly may have a motor with a gear sprocket. A linked chain may transfer power from the motor to the drive gear located between the double treads. The dolly may have a steering arm extending perpendicular to drive direction allowing the operator to stand away from path of movement of the load while providing adequate leverage to steer the dolly. The dolly may have an alternate configuration with a power source located on the dolly providing operation independent of plugins or extension cords.

Abstract:

A universal night vision goggle adapter (38) is provided for mounting a pair of night vision goggles (40) to a Special Purpose Test Set (10). The adapter (38) comprises slidably adjustable clamps (61 and 62) which are adjusted by a rotating rod (46). The rod (46) is rotationally supported by a bearing housing (44) which is in-turn fixed to a platform (42). The rod (46) is threadably attached at one end to a first bar (48) and threadably attached at another end to a second bar (50). The first and second bars (48 and 50) are fixed to the adjustable clamps (61 and 62) in such a fashion that as the rod (46) is rotated, the bars (48 and 50) are moved closer together or farther apart to adjust the clamps (61 and 62).

Abstract:

A retainer ring (10) is provided to secure a lens (14) in a lens holder (12). The lens holder (12) has a groove (29) on its internal surface to match the external surface (34) of the ring (10). The lens (14) is placed in the lens holder (12) and the ring (10) is snapped into position in the groove (29) in lens holder (12) to secure the lens (14) therein. The lens holder (12) may then be inserted into an eyepiece (22) on a night vision goggle (20).

Abstract:

An adjustment mechanism for adjusting headgear-mounted vision equipment with respect to the viewer's eyes. A goggle (14) is mounted to a carriage (20) which is slideable on a frame (10) mounted to the headgear (12). The carriage (20) is slideable on a rail (16) by a tongue and groove arrangement (48), and slideable on a rod (42). The carriage (20) includes a cavity (62) with a coil spring (64) therein encircling the rod (42). In its relaxed state, the coil spring (64) firmly engages the rod (42) and prevents movement of the carriage (20) on the rod (42). The coil spring ends (66, 68) are compressible together to release the engagement of the coil spring (64) about the rod (42). A finger-operated plunger assembly (28) includes a slotted end (118) for engaging one spring end (68). When the plunger button (116) is depressed, the spring ends (66, 68) are pressed together, thereby permitting adjustment of the carriage (20) on the rod (42).
