Abstract:

A system for heating large volumes of liquid in an industrial or commerical tank. The system includes a gas fired heat generating sender located adjacent the tank, a heating element or receiver means located in the tank, and a closed loop heat transfer circuit having a heating and vaporization zone within which a working fluid is heated and vaporized by the heat generating sender. The closed loop heat transfer circuit also includes a condensation zone which is located within the receiver and within which the vapor is circulated and condensed for transferring heat to the receiver and the liquid in the tank. The sender includes a radiant burner whose products of combustion are exhausted downwardly past a liquid inlet line to preheat the liquid before the liquid enters the tank for subsequent heating by the working fluid in the receiver.

Abstract:

An igniter which is for a gas burner and which serves to produce a pilot flame at the outer surface of the burner face. The igniter includes a tube which extends through the housing chamber and the burner and terminates adjacent to the burner face. Pilot gas passes through the tube where gas ignition occurs at the burner surface.

Abstract:

A cooking system particularly adaptable for commercial or institutional usage. The cooking system includes a high efficiency, gas fired heat generating sender, a cooking element or receiver, and a closed loop heat transfer circuit having a heating and vaporization zone within which a working fluid is heated and vaporized by the heat generating sender and a condensation zone disposed in adjacent relation to the cooking element within which the vapor is circulated and condensed for transferring heat to the cooking element and food contained therein. The sender may be remotely located from the cooking element and may be utilized for selectively applying heat to a plurality of such cooking elements. Several alternative embodiments of cooking elements are disclosed.
