Curable Elastomer Compositions With Low Temperature Sealing Capability

International Classification:

US Classification:
428 357, 524579, 524528, 156327
Abstract:
Curable sealant compositions having low temperature sealing ability improved over convention curable sealing compositions. The composition is flowable and can be cured to a cross linked form to provide cured reaction products that exhibit elastomeric properties. The curable elastomeric sealant composition can include a cross linkable elastomeric oligomer; an initiator or cross-linking agent; a glassy monomer and/or a rubbery monomer; and optionally one or more additives. Cured reaction products of the composition have a single Tg and retain a higher sealing force at low temperatures (but above the cured product Tg) as compared to a curable composition made from the same cross linkable elastomeric oligomer but without the glassy and/or rubbery monomer.

Abstract:
A single use disposable medical razor having an elongated handle member within which is disposed a hollow portion defining a reservoir extending from a proximate end to a distal end, closure means for the reservoir at the proximate end and a dispensing orifice at the distal end of the reservoir, plunger means transversely disposed to the hollow portion of the reservoir and essentially filling generally a first half of the reservoir adjacent the proximate end thereof and adapted to move along throughout a length of the second half of the reservoir from about a midportion of the hollow portion to a distal end thereof, the reservoir adapted for storing shaving cream in the second half thereof, a race means disposed along an element of the reservoir and extending less than the entire length of the handle from about a midpoint of the hollow portion to the proximate end thereof essentially generally along the first half, protrusion means extending from the plunger means outwardly through the race means for grasping manually by a user and, after removal of an adhesive tape from the orifice, whereby displacement of the plunger means by grasping the protrusion means and moving it along the race means moves the plunger into the second half of the reservoir for causing the shaving cream to be dispensed from the dispensing orifice in the distal end.

Abstract:
A lithospheric electromagnetic telemetry system specifically adapted for telemetry of oil well drilling parameters from well bottom to surface of the earth. Sensors measure such parameters as pressure, temperature, salinity, direction of well bore, bit conditions, as well as the standard well logging parameters. The sensor outputs are converted to digital form and stored in a local memory until they are transmitted upon a triggering signal from a surface station. Transmission is accomplished by phase shift modulating an ELF (Extra Low Frequency) or ULF (Ultra Low Frequency) carrier, preferably in the range of 1-30 Hz. Repeater stations which delay and retransmit the signal are spaced along the oil well drill pipe as required. Both the well bottom station and repeaters are mounted inside the oil well drill pipe without substantially decreasing clearance for mud flow.

Abstract:
A composition for effectively treating dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis and scalp psoriasis comprising a combination of essential ingredients consisting of microfine particles of a clay mineral containing adsorbed magnesium, water, ethanol, sodium chloride and, optionally, minor amounts of glycerin and precipitated sulfur. The effectiveness of the method in treating such scalp diseases by topical application to the scalp epidermis is predicated on the capacity of the composition to release and deliver magnesium cations and hydroxyl anions to the causative sites and return the associated pathological cells to a normal morphology.
