Abstract:

A T-bracket having a pair of spaced apart arms support a housing containing a sprocket wheel and a shaft to turn the sprocket. A handle attached to one end of the shaft turns the sprocket to tighten a chain turning on the sprocket teeth. A flexible wire rod is welded to the T-bracket and is juxtaposed around a rear end of a power drill. The chain is looped around a work piece and attached to a side of the drill opposite from the T-bracket. The handle is turned to tighten the chain and exert force on a drill bit being driven by the power drill.

A process and apparatus for isolating and purifying nucleic acids and other target molecules directly from blood, plasma, urine, cell cultures and the like by totally automated means, without centrifugation, aspiration or vacuum. After mixing a sample containing target molecules with a test reagent in an environmentally isolated compartment, target molecules are adsorbed onto a binding material and eluted in a small volume using an elution reagent. A preferred embodiment purifies nucleic acids and automatically detects target sequences from a sample of fresh blood.

Abstract:

A device for introducing forms into a printer of a computer to facilitate alignment of the forms with respect to the printer and to obviate wasted forms. Said device comprises a flexible sheet having a row of holes disposed along at least one edge of the sheet, means for removably attaching the forms to the flexible sheet and at least one reference line printed on the surface of the sheet for aligning the forms with respect to the printer. Abstract:

A manufactured article for reinforcing continuous forms having sprocket holes comprising a means for reinforcing the sprocket holes and alternatively additionally comprises means for reinforcing perforations found in said continuous forms.
