Embodiments of the present invention include systems and methods for searching a defined area. In one embodiment, the present invention includes a method comprising receiving a plurality of product data, wherein the product data describes a plurality of products offered for sale by a plurality of businesses. Product data may be associated with a defined area, where the businesses each have a point-of-sale store located in the defined area. A user may enter a search request, and the system searches product data for a plurality of products in a plurality of point-of-sale stores in the defined area. The system outputs product data for point-of-sale stores located in said defined area matching said search request.
Persistent Location Tracking On Mobile Devices And Location Profiling
A mobile device may include a geopositioning receiver and an accelerometer, which may be engaged in an alternating manner depending on whether the mobile device is at rest or in motion. If the mobile device is in motion, the geopositioning receiver may remain engaged to provide a real-time location of the mobile device, which may be used to generate various location-triggered notifications and to control location-triggered applications. If the mobile device is at rest, the geopositioning receiver may be disengaged to reduce power usage and instead the accelerometer may be engaged to monitor whether the mobile device is put back in motion. If so, the geopositioning receiver may be reengaged. A sequence of locations where the mobile device came to rest may be stored to construct a location profile, which may allow closely targeted offers and advertisements to be generated based on the daily activity patterns of users.

Honor & Awards:
I do a lot of competitive endurance running as a Masters athlete (trail running in particular), and have won national/world titles in the 10-mile, half marathon, marathon, and 50k distances in 2010-2013. But really I'm just in it for good blog stories, post-race beer, and a metabolism that allows for regular fine dining. ;-)
My blog, "A Trail Runner's Blog" (http://www.atrailrunnersblog.com), was named "Best Health and Fitness Blog" by Forbes Magazine.
2004 Overall Champion (Marathon and below distance) and "Trail Runner of the Year", Trail Running Magazine (www.trailrunnermag.com).
Stevie Award finalist for "Best Marketing Team" and "Best Turnaround Executive", 2004.
