Abstract:

A device for expressing milk from one or more breasts has at least one, and preferably two expressers and a pump. The expressers each have a cup for fitting on the breasts and a cup outlet to which a vacuum created by the pump can be connected. The cups have a flexible liner which collapses around the breast to establish the vacuum. Pulsating pressure is applied to the outside of the liner to increase the vacuum and stimulate milk production. The pressure is applied through lines which are vented to maintain adequate, consistent pressure pulses without stalling the pump.

Abstract:

Employing collector optics that has a sacrificial reflective surface can significantly prolong the useful life of the collector optics and the overall performance of the condenser in which the collector optics are incorporated. The collector optics is normally subject to erosion by debris from laser plasma source of radiation. The presence of an upper sacrificial reflective surface over the underlying reflective surface effectively increases the life of the optics while relaxing the constraints on the radiation source. Spatial and temporally varying reflectivity that results from the use of the sacrificial reflective surface can be accommodated by proper condenser design.

Abstract:

Baby bottles can have a single container, or two containers to create a space for thermal isolation, as selected by the user. The baby bottle can be vented to allow air to enter the bottle through a passageway as liquid is removed. A filter and one-way valve can be provided in the passageway. The passageway can be formed by radially aligning a vent opening in a top cap with a vent opening in a nipple flange, or by providing a channel in the top cap which is always in radial alignment with both the top cap vent opening and the flange vent opening.

Abstract:

A bed rail including first and second legs for attachment to a bed or crib. The legs fit between the mattress and the mattress support frame extending transversely from one side of the crib to the other. The proximate end of each leg is pivotally attached to a respective lower corner of an elongated side panel. Raised, the side panel extends vertically above the mattress to provide a safety restraint on one side of the crib. Unlocked, the panel may be swung into a lowered position. Means is also provided for securing the distal end of the legs to the mattress support frame at a location on the other side of the crib. Also disclosed is a safety bolster for use with the bed rail including an upper head portion extending above the mattress and a lower foot portion extending between the mattress and said side panel.

Abstract:

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a process for producing isoprene from a starch substrate by saccharification and/or fermentation. The saccharification is effectively catalyzed by a glucoamylase at a pH in the range of 5.0 to 8.0. At a pH of 6.0 or above, the glucoamylase possesses at least 50% activity relative to its maximum activity. The saccharification and fermentation may be performed as a simultaneous saccharification and fermentation (SSF) process.
