Abstract:

A fastening tool to releasably engage a peripheral or internal wall of a concrete block defining an internal channel for lifting and placement provides a “U” shaped body with spaced depending legs to fit over the wall of the block. The body supports an “L” shaped external tong arm bracket pivotally carrying a similarly “L” shaped tong arm, with an engaging hook at a depending end and attachment means for a lifting line carried by a lifting mechanism at an opposed horizontal end, to frictionally engage the block wall between the body legs when the tool is lifted by the tong arm attachment means. The body back carries an upstanding “U” shaped handle for manually lifting the body for tool placement and release. A system provides plural fastening tools carried in lateral adjacency on a supporting beam attachable to a lifting mechanism.

Abstract:

A tool, for placement of predetermined amounts of granular fertilizer into the soil in a consolidated mass, provides an elongate body with a handle structure in its upper portion and a tubular fertilizer reservoir in its lower portion. The fertilizer reservoir defines an open upper portion for filling and slidably carries an associated tube for adjustment of the volume of a fertilizer charge. An angulated bottom portion of the reservoir allows insertion into the earth and carries a pivotally articulated cover to allow opening of the bottom portion of the reservoir for dispersement of a fertilizer charge. The lower medial portion of the tool body provides a pivotally mounted foot support to aid insertion of the fertilizer reservoir into the earth. Dispersement structure communicates from the pivotally articulated reservoir cover to the handle structure for opening of the cover from the handle area for dispersement of fertilizer.

Abstract:

A tool to releasably engage in a channel of a concrete block for lifting provides an elongate body rod defining a fastening loop in its upper portion and carrying in its lower portion two radially extending fins having an obtuse central angle less than a straight angle therebetween. Each fin pivotally supports vertically spaced, parallel connector links that pivotally interconnect vertically orientated fastening arms for similar radial motion. The body provides at least one fixed fastening arm extending on a line bisecting the central angle between the two fins. Release mechanism provides a release collar slidable on the body between the fins and fastening ring. The collar pivotally carries connector links that interconnect with the upper fastening arms to radially move the fastening arm responsive to collar motion. A compression spring carried about the body rod between the collar and the fastening ring biases the collar downwardly and responsively the fastening arms outwardly. The biasing force is related to the tool weight so that in relaxed condition the fastening arms interconnect within a block channel, but when the tool is lifted by the release collar the fastening arms move to release interconnection within a block channel.
