Abstract:

A food cutting board apparatus includes a cutting board with an aperture sized to receive a colored indicator. The aperture is preferably located adjacent to a corner of the board. The indicator preferably comprises a ring with a hollow cavity to enable the apparatus to be hung when not in use. A cutting board system comprises the cutting board and a plurality of differently colored indicators, each with a substantially similar structure corresponding to the shape of the board aperture. A multi-board assembly includes multiple cutting board apparatuses held by a receptacle tray. Each cutting board apparatus includes notches along the edges to provide openings for discarded food items and liquids to be disposed in a space defined by the tray. The tray includes a divider which separates the board apparatuses and divides the space therein into separate compartments.

Abstract:

Induction heating of thermoplastic composite materials is accomplished to form a continuous bonded joint. A zone of optimum heating can be created by an induction heating coil mounted within and adjacent to the drum of a hollow circular roller of non-conductive material (i. e. , transparent to the RF field) so that an induction heating field can be created and localized to create a zone of optimum heating at the joint area of the material to be bonded. Simultaneously pressure to that area can be applied by the circular roller. In a preferred form, the roller is semi-rigid to permit spreading of the contact surface with the joint area to avoid absolute contact line loading. A hand held induction heating unit with a finger operable power switch can be moved in a back and forth manner over the joint to apply heat when the switch is turned on and effect consolidation when the switch is turned off. Using the techniques of the invention, one can fuse two contacting members which are comprised of filamentary reinforced composite materials in which the matrix resin at the joint interface is a member of the thermoplastic family of polymers. The invention concentrates radio frequency (RF) energy at the joint interface which heats the surrounding layers and simultaneously provides for the application of a controlled force normal to the mid-plane of the joint to retain compaction of the laminates which would normally be relieved in a hot unrestrained condition.

Abstract:

A cutting board system provides both a cutting board and a drip pan tray for receiving juices and trimmings which are cut from food articles. The cutting board mounts directly within a drip pan tray and is provided with at least one notch whereby juices may flow into the tray below. The tray is provided with a pour system to provide convenient cutting, serving and pouring of the food to be served.

Abstract:

A bathtub of the type having a bottom and four sides is improved by providing a smooth continuous, horizontally extending planar surface extending outwardly from the top of the four sides. A skirt member extends downwardly from this planar surface for a short distance. Located within the skirt member is a retaining member which is capable of retaining an apron panel in a fixed alignment with the tub such that the apron panel is interchangeable with the left and right sides of the tub allowing the tub to be used interchangeably in installations which previously required either a right or left handed tub. Extending along the longitudinal axis of the bottom of the tub is a runner retaining member to which is attached one or more runners which suspend the tub above a supporting surface allowing both drain and inlet pipes to be located between the supporting surface and the tub.
