This was a championships in which young talent came to the fore, though, so it was somewhat fitting that 18-year-old Desiree Henry brought the women's 4x100m relay team home, securing Great Britain's last medal in a national record time.

And the final day ended with both sets of sprint relay teams winning gold - Richard Kilty, Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, James Ellington and Adam Gemili in the men's event, before Asha Philip, Ashleigh Nelson, Jodie Williams and Desiree Henry set a British record in the women's.
Asha Philip, Ashleigh Nelson, Jodie Williams and Desiree Henry added a fifth gold of a wonderful Sunday for the British team, romping to victory in the women's sprint relay in 42.24 seconds - breaking the national record in the process.
Desiree Henry, 16, was nominated by decathlete gold medallist Daley Thompson - she was the youngest member of the Great Britain youth team to win a world 200m title at the IAAF World Youth Championships in 2011.
