Burn victim Michael Brewer arrested on drug possession charges
The motive was determined to be revenge, as Brewer reported an attempted theft of a bicycle the night before. Arrested were Matthew Bent, Denver Jarvis and Jesus Mendez all of whom were 15 and residents of Pompano Beach. Two others were arrested with the group but charges were never filed against
of the co-defendants in the case, Denver Jarvis', had his sentence reduced. A judge approved lowering the probationary period to 10 years. He still has to serve all eight years in prison. Meanwhile, the other two suspects in the case Matthew Bent and Jesus Mendez were sentenced to 11 years in prison.
