The cellular call processor having concurrent instances of call models supports mixed media communication connections. The cellular call processor processes each of the media components of the mixed media communication connection in an independent, yet coordinated manner. Thus, each of the media components of the mixed media communication connection can be processed in an efficient media-specific manner and even directed to different destinations. The cellular call processor can implement this capability in a plurality of ways, one of which is to maintain the existing voice call model and create a new call model for each of the other call components in a media-specific manner. Alternatively, multiple instances of the same call model can be used, with each call component being served by a separate instance of the call processing code. Communications among the various instances of the call models occur only at the call setup and release and the call models can be implemented in the same physical network element or can be implemented in separate network elements that are customized for the type of call component being processed.

Abstract:
A method and system are disclosed for supporting overlapping IP addresses by sharing a mobile node identifier between an IWF and a Foreign Agent in a visited data (e. g. , wireless) network. The mobile node identifier is stored in lookup tables associated with the IWF (Mobile Identity table) and the Foreign Agent (Visitor List table). When a data packet travels between the IWF and the Foreign Agent, the mobile node identifier is attached to it. For data packets moving in the reverse Mobile IP traffic direction (from the mobile node), the Foreign Agent uses the mobile node identifier to identify the correct Home Agent destination by finding the corresponding Home Agent address in the Visitor List table. For forward Mobile IP traffic (to the mobile node), the IWF uses the mobile node identifier to identify the correct mobile node destination by finding the corresponding link identifier in the Mobile Identity table.
Gsm Mou Bypass For Delivering Calls To Gsm Subscribers Roaming To Cdma Networks
Method and system integrating wireless/wireline and circuit/packet networks (to bypass GSM Memorandum of Understandings) for cellular/PCS services so that GSM subscribers roaming into CDMA networks can be provided with basic wireless call delivery services as long as the roamers can pay the bill with their valid credit card. This is achieved by integrating wireless and wireline networks as well as circuit and packet networks, using IP networks and protocols as an alternative to the existing telephony-based approach.

Independent Billing Settlement For Call Origination By Wireless Subscribers Roaming To Foreign Wireless Networks
Method and system to bypass GSM Memorandum of Understandings for cellular/PCS services so that GSM subscribers roaming into CDMA or TDMA networks, and CDMA or TDMA subscribers roaming into GSM networks, can be provided with basic call origination wireless services as long as the roamers can pay the bill with their valid credit card. This is achieved by integrating the proper pieces of wireless and wireline networks and secure communications.
Using Internet And Internet Protocols To Bypass Pstn, Gsm Map, And Ansi-41 Networks For Wireless Telephone Call Delivery
A method and system to provide GSM subscribers roaming into CDMA or TDMA networks, and CDMA or TDMA subscribers roaming into GSM networks, with basic call delivery wireless services as long as the roamers can pay the bill with their valid credit card, and to do so independently of and as a bypass of GSM Memorandum of Understandings for cellular/PCS services. This is achieved by integrating the proper pieces of wireless and wireline networks and secure communications, using IP networks and protocols as an alternative to the existing telephony-based approach.
Method And System For Providing Wireless Mobile Server And Peer-To-Peer Services With Dynamic Dns Update
A method and communications system provide data and voice services to subscribers at mobile terminals using dynamic IP address assignment and dynamic DNS update. A visited network dynamically assigns one of its IP addresses to a mobile terminal away from its home network accessing the visited network as a session IP address. The visited network transmits the assigned IP address to the home network of the mobile terminal over a private network. The home network associates the assigned IP address from the visited network with the host name of the mobile terminal in a DNS server of the home network and sends the host name to the visited network, although the visited network may already have received the host name from the mobile terminal. The visited network associates the host name of the mobile terminal with the assigned IP address its DNS server. Upon termination of the call by the mobile terminal, the visited network disassociates the assigned IP address with the host name in its DNS server and instructs the home network to do the same.

Abstract:
A wireless communication network is disclosed comprising a base station system, a switching system, and a transport network. The transport network comprises a conventional signaling network configured to transport call signaling and a bearer network configured to transport user communications. The bearer network also transports call signaling, as special connections are established and a portion of the capacity of the special connections are reserved for transporting call signaling. In response to receiving call signaling from a mobile wireless device or a packet data network, the base station system or the switching system determines if the call signaling is for a low latency service. If the call signaling is for a low latency service, then the base station system or the switching system forwards the call signaling over the special connection. If not, then the base station system or the switching system transmits the call signaling over the conventional signaling network.
