Abstract:

A processor including an integrated system interface unit configured to manage multiple I/O interfaces and multiple protocols. A processor includes a plurality of processing cores, a cache comprising a plurality of banks, and a system interface unit coupled to the processing cores and the cache. The system interface unit includes an inbound unit configured to receive inbound transactions from a first I/O unit and a second I/O unit, and an outbound unit configured to convey outbound transactions to either the first I/O unit or the second I/O unit. Each of the first and second I/O units is configured to support different protocols. Prior to conveying transaction data to the system interface, the first I/O unit and second I/O units reformat transaction data to conform to a common format. The system interface receives and stores transaction data in either queues dedicated for cacheable transactions or queues dedicated for non-cacheable transactions. In addition, each of the I/O units may also indicate in the common format whether a given transaction is to be ordered with respect to other transactions.

Abstract:

A system and method to program computers directly from a Web Browser, by cascading sets of retrieval, computation and update requirement specifications to facilitate repetition, decision and execution control logics, without using query, procedural and programming languages. This method provides database product independent Web based access of databases on the Internet with the following capabilities: creating a database dictionary/directory for describing existing or new databases, tables, columns, and data values; creating new databases; searching the directory by keywords to establish entry points to the directory; browsing the directory upward or downward by the user from the entry points to identify information of interest; creating retrieval, computation and update requirement specifications during the directory browsing process; saving, restoring the requirement specifications by name and submitting the requirement specifications to be executed by the computing engine; cascading previously saved requirement specifications as components and sub-components to create newly named requirement specification which can itself be saved or executed.

Abstract:

Methods, systems, and related computer program products for are described for non-invasive detection of intracranial pressure (ICP) variations in an intracranial compartment of a patient. Optical radiation is propagated transcranially into the intracranial compartment, and optical radiation that has migrated through at least a portion of the intracranial compartment and back out of the cranium is detected. At least one signal representative of the detected optical radiation is processed to extract therefrom at least one component signal that varies in time according to at least one of an intrinsic physiological oscillation and an externally driven oscillation in the patient. Examples of suitable intrinsic physiological oscillations include intrinsic respiratory and cardiac oscillations. Examples of suitable externally driven oscillations include ventilated respiratory oscillations and externally mechanically induced oscillations. The extracted component signal is then processed to generate an output signal representative of the ICP variations in the intracranial compartment.

Abstract:

This invention provides a terminal block or an adaptor where the binding posts and the caps which screw on the binding posts are adapted to receive small wires without breaking or cutting the wires when the cap is installed with normal installation torque for binding posts. The binding posts and cap can also receive large gauge wires and make connection therewith through the insulation on the wire without cutting or braking the conductor in the wire.

Abstract:

A terminal block, by means of which a multi-core cable is connected to several drop wires, may be repaired by positioning an adapter over its binding posts. The adapter has an aperture into which a non-stripped, non-split, multi-core drop wire can be inserted such that one core of the drop wire is adjacent one binding post. Caps are then screwed onto the binding posts to make contact with respective cores, prebinding posts to make contact with respective cores, preferably by cutting through insulation of the drop wire. The adapter may be adjustable to suit different sizes of terminal block.
