Abstract:

A thermoelectric generator has a hot side heat exchanger having a silicon carbide (SiC) honeycomb support with a plurality of passages. The passage walls are coated with a pyrophoric solid fuel such as red oxide (FeO) in combination with a silicon (Si) binder. A quantum well thermoelectric device is positioned between the hot side heat exchanger and heat sink. The performance of the thermoelectric generator is comparable to fuel cells. The thermoelectric generator is small and portable.

Abstract:

A "tower"-type computer has a metal frame or chassis enclosed in an ornamental plastic housing. One side of the plastic housing with an attached metal liner is detachable for access to the interior of the chassis. The upper front corner of the chassis is provided with a metallic subframe. The front of the chassis is substantially open in front of this subframe and is formed with ventilation holes below the subframe. A detachable main bezel, divided into three vertically separated sections, covers the front of the chassis. The upper section of the main bezel is substantially open but is provided with ears so that fasteners can connect the ears to the front of the chassis. A peripheral bezel snaps onto this upper section of the main bezel and is provided with three openings which are covered with removable fillers. When a filler is removed, a computer peripheral may be inserted through the peripheral bezel into tracks in a bracket installed in the subframe.

Abstract:

This invention pertains to: a method for controlling the monitoring of broadcast messages of traffic information, and reporting to a user, traffic information that relates to a set of user-specified routes of travel; and also to a travel route information monitor that operates in accordance with the method. The method includes a first step of programming information into a controller (1). A first portion of the programmed information specifies a time. A second portion of the programmed information specifies a set of geographical routes of travel comprising a primary route and at least one alternative route. A next step includes initiating the receiving of broadcast messages of traffic information at a time that is a function of the time specified by the first portion of the programmed information. A next step includes screening received broadcast messages to collect traffic information that relates to any of the routes of travel specified by the second portion of the programmed information. A next step includes reporting the collected traffic information to a user.

Abstract:

The technology disclosed herein relates to, at least in part, a removable imaging cassette. An illumination plate is configured to transmit light. A cassette body defines an outer surface and a cassette cavity within the outer surface, where the outer surface surrounds the illumination plate. The cassette cavity abuts the illumination plate. A light source is disposed in the cassette cavity. Mating electrical contacts extend through the outer surface of the cassette body, where the mating electrical contacts are operably coupled to the light source.
