Abstract:

A cleaning apparatus is used with a slug catcher for a pipeline upstream of a process. An inlet of the catcher separates liquid and gas of the flow, and a gas outlet outputs the gas. Tubes of the catcher extend below the inlet to collect the liquid in a liquid outlet for output to the process. An actuator of the apparatus has a mover disposed internal to a portion of the liquid outlet. Movable with the actuator, the mover moves any debris relative to at least one outlet port of the liquid outlet. For example, a motor can rotate a feed screw in a sludge manifold to move a paddle for scrubbing debris to an outlet in the manifold. In another example, a motor can rotate an auger in the sludge manifold to move debris to the manifold's outlet. The apparatus can be manually or automatically operated.
