Abstract:

A system and method for performing an ocular surgical procedure is provided. The system is configured to provide an IOL having a trailing haptic to an eye and includes a pair of interlockable telescoping elements, having generally an inner and outer component configured to hold the IOL and be brought together into a locking position, the locking position maintaining the trailing haptic in an advantageously altered orientation. The system also includes a plunger configured to receive force and transmit the force to the IOL and the trailing haptic in the advantageously altered orientation.

A system comprising a plurality of nodes communicatively coupled to one another via at least one wireless link and a controller communicatively coupled to at least one of the nodes, wherein the controller () coordinates at least one scan that measures interference introduced into the wireless link, () identifies, based at least in part on the scan, one or more characteristics of the wireless link, () determines, based at least in part on the characteristics of the wireless link, that the node is eligible for a tapered codebook that, when implemented, modifies at least one feature of an antenna array that supports the wireless link in connection with the node, and then () directs the node to implement the tapered codebook. Abstract:

Embodiments relate to systems, methods, and computer readable media to enable a wireless receiver are described. In one embodiment a wireless receiver includes a channel decoder and a Soft-Input Soft-Output Multiple-Input Multiple-Output detector (SISO MIMO detector). The SISO MIMO detector includes circuitry to generate soft symbol outputs for each of a plurality of received spatial streams, and circuitry to adjust a signal to noise plus interference ratio for the soft symbol outputs using channel statistics and using hard decisions from an output of the channel decoder. The channel decoder is configured to receive soft binary information generated from the soft symbol outputs from the SISO MIMO detector and perform these steps iteratively a number of times.

Abstract:

Embodiments of an access point (AP), user station (STA), and method for variable length encoding are generally described herein. The AP may encode a block of input bits according to a parity check matrix to produce a low density parity check (LDPC) codeword. The parity check matrix may be included in a group of candidate parity check matrixes that includes a base parity check matrix and an expanded parity check matrix. An LDPC codeword length may be smaller for the base parity check matrix than for the expanded parity check matrix. The base parity check matrix may be used for the encoding when the LDPC codeword is transmitted for a legacy user station (STA). The expanded parity check matrix may be used when the LDPC codeword is transmitted for a non-legacy STA.

Abstract:

Embodiments of an access point (AP), user station (STA), and method for spatial modulation orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (SM-OFDM) communication in a wireless network are generally described herein. The AP may transmit an SM-OFDM signal that comprises multiple OFDM signals. The SM-OFDM signal may be transmitted in channel resources that comprise multiple sub-carriers and the OFDM signals may be based at least partly on data symbols for used data portions of the sub-carriers. The used data portions may be based on a first portion of encoded bits and the data symbols for the used data portions may be based on a second portion of the encoded bits. In some examples, the used data portions of the sub-carriers may be different for at least some of the OFDM signals.
