Abstract:

The tendency of carbonated beverage to generate excessive foam when it is produced and bottled is reduced in a process including: (a) providing water or a mixture of water and syrup, which contains oxygen or air dissolved therein, and maintaining a pressure greater than atmospheric thereon; (b) saturating said mixture with carbon dioxide, and feeding the resultant mixture to step (c), while maintaining sufficient pressure thereon that no dissolved gas evolves therefrom; and (c) removing dissolved oxygen or air from the mixture formed in step (b) while dissolving additional carbon dioxide into said mixture and maintaining over said mixture a pressure greater than atmospheric.

This invention is directed to an external loop nonfreezing heat exchanger for cooling a heat transfer fluid with cryogenic fluid. The cryogenic fluid is first pre-vaporized with the spent cryogenic fluid. The heat transfer fluid is then cooled by the vaporized cryogenic fluid instead of the cryogenic fluid feed directly.

Abstract:

The present invention comprises a new class of compounds useful for the modulation of Beta-secretase enzyme activity and for the treatment of Beta-secretase mediated diseases, including Alzheimer's disease (AD) and other related conditions. In one embodiment, the compounds have a general Formula Iwherein A, A, A, A, A, A, R, R, X and Y of Formula I are defined herein. The invention also includes use of these compounds in pharmaceutical compositions for treatment, prophylactic or therapeutic, of disorders and conditions related to the activity of beta-secretase protein.
