Abstract:
A mounting assembly for mounting an accessory to a weapon frame having at least one slot formed in first and second sides thereof. The mounting assembly includes: a body; first and second jaws on opposing sides of the body, the first jaw having an engagement portion dimensioned to engage the first slot and the second jaw having an engagement portion dimensioned to engage the second slot; and a first biasing member configured to provide a biasing force against the first jaw to force the engagement portion of the first jaw into the first slot, and a second biasing member configured to provide a biasing force against the second jaw to force the engagement portion of the second jaw into the second slot. The mounting assembly may be easily and reliably attached to weapon without using tools.
A tactical illuminator has a first switch for providing a lesser amount of visible light on an area of interest than a second switch. The first switch being in close proximity to the second switch to allow an operator to quickly and easily move his finger or thumb from the first switch to the second switch when a need for greater light is encountered. A tactical illuminator has a rotatable switch moveable from a first position that provides a lower level of light output to a second position that provides a greater level of light output. The operator actuating the switch by sliding his finger or thumb parallel to a longitudinal axis of a weapon barrel.

Abstract:
A plurality of actuators allow a gun operator to control the on/off status of an illuminator attached to a weapon in the area forward of the trigger guard. The actuators are spaced to allow them to extend rearwardly on opposite sides of the trigger guard. “Up” turns the light emitter on and keeps it on or allows it to turn on as long as the actuator is actuated, regardless of which side of the trigger guard the actuator is actuated.

Abstract:
An attachment system is provided for attaching an auxiliary device to a weapon having a frame, and in particular to a weapon frame in the area forward of the trigger guard. An attachment mechanism on the auxiliary apparatus is adapted to be engageable with a rail on the weapon to selectively attach the auxiliary apparatus. The weapon may include a transverse slot which can be engaged by a portion of the auxiliary device to prevent the auxiliary apparatus from sliding relative to the weapon due to recoil forces associated with firing the weapon.
