The century-old bottle from A. Keith & Son Brewery, the precursor to Halifax-based Alexander Keith's brewing company, was discovered in November by Jon Crouse on the bottom of Halifax harbour when he was scuba diving. There is a tiny chance that it was made under the tutelage of Alexander Keith, himself, according to Bill Scollard, manager at Alexander Keith's Nova Scotia Brewery. Given that the beer's original shelf life would be "in the order of a month or two," according to Alexander Keith's brew master Steve Durand, it's unlikely to taste much like it did when first bottled.
