A method of providing services to computing devices includes establishing a connection over the Internet with a computing device; receiving data from the computing device during the connection; extracting a signal from the data received from the computing device; estimating a relative age of the computing device based on the extracted signal; selecting a service from a plurality of services based on the estimated relative age of the computing device; and providing the selected service to the computing device.

Abstract:

In a memory array, dual port capability is achieved by an arrangement of the memory cells such that for each cycle of the memory operation two accesses may be performed. This result is achieved by taking advantage of the bit line precharging interval. A second bit line accessing pair is added to each memory element, and each cycle is split so that when one bit line is in the accessing mode, the other bit line is in the precharging mode. Using this technique the speed of the memory is effectively doubled.

Abstract:

A time slot interchanger is disclosed for selecting and buffering digital signals between buses. The arrangement is particularly useful in forming conferences in a distributed digital time division system. In one embodiment, a clock is used to generate time signals corresponding to time slots of the first bus. These signals are sequentially provided to an associative memory and when a match occurs between the provided signal and a priorly stored time slot identity, an enable signal is provided. The enable signal has a time identity with a first bus time slot and a physical identity with a particular second bus time slot. The enable signal is used to gate into a second memory the time slot signal associated with the time identity at the storage location in the second memory corresponding with the particular time slot of the second bus associated with the enable signal. The signal samples are then sequentially removed from the second memory.

Abstract:

In a color-slide duplicator having a housing containing a light source which illuminates an opening in a housing wall, and a support for a camera above the housing for photographic reproduction of a slide to be duplicated; an assembly for supporting the slide comprises a carrier plate releasably and adjustably secured by magnets to the housing wall so as to span the illuminated opening which registers, at least in part, with an aperture in the carrier plate, and first and second parallel guide bars having undercut, beveled edges facing toward each other and being arranged on the carrier plate at opposite sides of the aperture in the latter, with one of the guide bars being movable laterally and resiliently urged in the direction toward the other guide bar, such guide bars being included in a quick-release mechanism by which the slide to be duplicated is positioned and held against the carrier plate over the aperture therein. In the case of a slide having a rigid frame, opposing side edges of the frame can be directly engaged by the beveled guide bar edges. When the slide is an unmounted flexible film, a bearing and masking plate with an aperture registering, at least in part, with the carrier plate aperture is engaged, at opposing side edges, by the beveled guide bar edges to be urged thereby against the carrier plate with the flexible film held flat between the carrier and bearing plates.
