  • US Classification:
    138 31, 138 30, 138177
  • Abstract:
A system, device and method of sealing a fluid accumulator assembly to a modulator body in a hydraulic fluid brake system provides a fluid modulator having a body with at least one fluid passageway formed therein. At least one socket is formed in a surface of the body in communication with the at least one fluid passageway. An accumulator assembly includes a housing with an open end. The open end includes a tapered lead-in, the tapered lead-in being positioned in the socket. The socket includes a seizing taper configuration, the angle of the seizing taper being complementary to an angled portion of the tapered lead-in. The housing of the accumulator includes a stake groove. Material from the body is staked into the stake groove, retaining the accumulator to the body thereby.
  • Master Cylinder Having A Compact Profile

  • International Classification:
    B60T 1126
  • US Classification:
    60585, 921691, 2988806
  • Abstract:
The subject invention provides a master cylinder having a compact profile. In particular, the master cylinder comprises a hollow body having a continuous outer wall with a continuous thickness. An end wall is integrally formed with the outer wall at a first end to close an end of an integrally formed bore. A number of apertures are formed within the outer wall to provide fluid communication between the outer wall and the bore. A flange is also integrally formed with the outer wall at a second end to define a fully integrated master cylinder. The outer wall further includes thickened sections extending between an inner surface of the bore and a mounting surface with the thickened sections being at least 30 percent smaller than the inner diameter of the bore for providing the compact profile of the integrated master cylinder.

  • US Patent:
    8381953, Feb 26, 2013
  • Filed:
    Sep 8, 2010
  • Appl. No.:
    12/877417
  • Inventors:
Alfred Vennemeyer - Englewood OH, US
  • International Classification:
    F41C 33/02
    F41C 33/04
  • US Classification:
    224192, 224660, 224912
  • Abstract:
A gun holster fastening system for supporting a handgun in a position proximate to the ribcage area of the wearer is provided. The gun holster fastening system including a holster case having a pistol receiving compartment, and a holster support band attached to the holster case. The holster support band is sized to extend around a wearer's ribcage. The system also includes holster support strut sized to span between the wearer's ribcage area and a wearer's trouser waistband area, such that the holster support strut has a proximate end adjacent to the holster case, a distal end, an internal face, and an external face. The holster support strut is configured to support the gun fastening system and prevent the holster case and holster support band from moving down a wearer's ribcage. The distal end has a plurality of belt cleats which extend from the external face of the holster support strut to define at least one belt channel.
  • Powder Metal Crown Gear Forming Process

    view source
  • US Patent:
    41110315, Sep 5, 1978
  • Filed:
    Sep 9, 1977
  • Appl. No.:
    5/831938
  • Inventors:
Alfred C. Vennemeyer - Vandalia OH
Richard A. Ernst - Dayton OH
  • Assignee:
General Motors Corporation - Detroit MI
  • International Classification:
    B21D 2200
  • US Classification:
    72359
  • Abstract:
An improved method is disclosed for making spur gears having teeth with axially crowned working faces. A sintered powdered metal compact is formed in the shape of the desired gear, but slightly oversized and preferably with gear teeth having working faces that are uncrowned in the direction parallel to axis of rotation of the gear. The compact is forced into a smooth circular die cavity having a diameter slightly less than the outer diameter of the compact. Only the tips of the gear teeth engage the die wall. While the compact is constrained within the die, axial compressing forces are applied to it and gear teeth having axially crowned working faces are produced. At the same time, the gear is finish sized to desired dimensions.
  • Anti-Lock Braking And Traction Control System

  • US Patent:
    51022060, Apr 7, 1992
  • Filed:
    Jun 6, 1991
  • Appl. No.:
    7/711009
  • Inventors:
Alfred C. Vennemeyer - Englewood OH
Thomas H. Gardner - Englewood OH
  • Assignee:
General Motors Corporation - Detroit MI
  • International Classification:
    B60T 832
  • US Classification:
    303113TR
  • Abstract:
An anti-lock braking system (ABS) and traction control (TC) integration is provided including an actuator with fluid connections with a master cylinder, reservoir, and a wheel cylinder. A primary piston with an interior bore and a radial bore for selective alignment with the actuator fluid connections is slidably mounted in the actuator. A normally closed solenoid valve connects the reservoir with the actuator. A sensor determines wheel speed and generates a signal. The primary piston is moved along an actuator bore in response to the signal. The actuator also has a bore axial stop. A secondary piston is slidably mounted within the primary piston. The secondary piston has land surfaces forming a sealed chamber within the primary piston and a head section sealably mounted within the actuator bore exposed to the actuator connection with the wheel cylinder. The piston has an interior passage connecting the actuator connection with the wheel cylinder with the secondary piston sealed chamber.
