Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention exploit cyclostationarity of linearly modulated signals, transmitted through fading channels, to provide robust blind and data-aided mobile speed estimators. Embodiments of the invention utilize at least two methods of cyclic-correlation- and cyclic-spectrum-based methods and extension to space-time speed estimation at the base station in macrocells. In comparison with background art methods, the new estimators of the embodiments of the invention can be used without any need for pilot tones, and are robust to additive stationary noise or interference of any color or distribution. In addition, embodiments of the invention can also be implemented blindly, which can increase the data throughput. Performance results of the estimators of the embodiments of the invention are illustrated via extensive Monte Carlo simulation results.

A system and a method for conveying data using the vector components of the acoustic field, in addition to the scalar component is described. Receivers capable of determining the transmitted data values by measuring one or more parameters of an acoustic field are utilized. Measured parameters of the acoustic field may include both the scalar and vector components. The described system and method may optimize the conveyance of communications through a fluid.

Abstract:
The present disclosure provides advantageous systems and methods for identifying molecular vulnerabilities in biological pathways and networks. The present disclosure generally involves conceptualizing a disease/disorder at the molecular level as a faulty physiological system, wherein one or more molecules in the complex intracellular signaling network are dysfunctional. This is accomplished by modeling a given physiological system as a digital logic circuit. More particularly, in exemplarily embodiments, binary logic equations are derived by analyzing the interactions between the input and output nodes of a target biological system. These equations are then used to produce a digital circuit representation for the system. Once a digital circuit representation is created, this circuit may advantageously be analyzed, using fault analysis techniques, in order to determine the vulnerability levels of the molecules of the targeted system.

A method and a system are disclosed for high speed acoustic transmission of data in networks and sequences of solid pieces using various propagation modes. The data is converted to several sets, and then the sets are transmitted via propagation modes such as extensional or flexural or torsional or their combinations, using multiple transmitters. This allows to increase transmission rate or reduce transmission error or both for data communication.
