Abstract:

A method for determining fault sources for device failures comprises: generating failure signatures of fault sources for preselected tests; generating aggregate failure signatures for individual of the fault sources from the failure signatures; generating aggregate device test data from test data of a device for the preselected tests; generating aggregate matches by comparing the aggregate failure signatures with the aggregate device test data; and determining fault sources for device failures by comparing the test data of the device with ones of the failure signatures of fault sources corresponding to the aggregate matches. An apparatus configured to perform the method comprises at least one circuit.

Abstract:

Systems and methods for optical imaging are disclosed. An optical sensing system, including a display, an optical sensor, and a processor communicatively coupled to the display and the optical sensor is provided. The processor is configured to execute an input object image capture method. The method determines that an input object is proximate to an optical sensing region of the display, and in response to determining that an input object is proximate to the sensing region of the display, the optical sensing system illuminates the sensing region with an illumination sequence. The illumination sequence includes a cue mark sequence preceding an illumination pattern, where the cue mark sequence contains information about the illumination pattern.

Abstract:

An optical imaging device for imaging a biometric input object is provided. The optical imaging device includes an optical sensor having an array of sensing elements. The optical sensor is configured to first read a first subset of sensing elements in the array of sensing elements; analyze the first read of the first subset of sensing elements to determine an ambient light condition; first alter an operating point of the optical imaging device based on the ambient light condition; and image the input object.

Abstract:

Disclosed is a device for optical sensing, comprising: a display comprising a transparent substrate and a plurality of light emitters disposed above the transparent substrate; a transparent cover layer disposed above the display, wherein a top surface of the transparent cover layer provides an input surface for sensing an input object; and, an angled filter disposed below the transparent substrate of the display, wherein the angled filter is configured to allow light within a tolerance angle of an acceptance angle to pass through the angled filter, wherein the acceptance angle is centered around a non-zero angle relative to a normal of the input surface.
