Abstract:

A system and method for conducting a lottery game at a retail establishment wherein players purchase goods or services involve a player placing a wager that is a function of the purchase price of the goods or services purchased at the retail establishment. A lottery draw is conducted at the time of purchase of the goods or services, or at a later time, wherein the probability of winning the draw is a function of the amount of the wager. For a winning draw, the player is awarded a prize that is a function of the purchase price of the goods or services.

A system and methodology for conducting a lottery wagering game include receiving a first wager fee from players for entry in a primary game. The players are offered the option to pay a second wager fee for a chance at a first multiplier fact that may increase the prize award for winners of the primary game. The players are also offered the option to pay a third wager fee for a chance at a second multiplier factor that combines with the first multiplier factor in a predetermined for subsequently randomly generated multiplier function to determine a final multiplier factor that is applied to the prize award for winners of the primary game.

Abstract:

A method and system for playing a terminal based lottery game having a slot machine theme includes assigning a defined set of objects to respective slot positions, the objects being unknown to game players. A player chooses at least one grouping of the slot positions from a plurality of possible groupings, and the system records the player's selection. For each of the slot positions, the system randomly selects an object from the set of objects assigned to each respective slot position such that a play set of the objects is generated for the player's grouping of slot positions. The player is awarded a prize amount that is a function of the number or combination of matches of objects within the player's play set. The methodology and system are particularly well suited for a poker slot machine theme game wherein the player's selected grouping corresponds to a poker hand, with the objects assigned to the respective slot positions corresponding to a poker deck of cards.

Abstract:

A method is provided for implementing a Digital Gate enabled lottery game wherein players are offered the chance to increase the prize value of a ticket by linking subsequently purchased tickets in a chain. Lottery tickets are provided for players, wherein each lottery ticket includes a unique validation code and play of the game enabled by the lottery ticket may result in a prize within a given prize structure. For winning plays of one of the lottery tickets, consumers are provided an option to redeem the ticket for the prize or to register and designate the winning lottery ticket as part of a chain. The player may enhance the prize associated with the first ticket in the chain by subsequent registration of an additional lottery ticket wherein, upon being registered, the additionally registered tickets in the chain may or may-not be individually redeemed. In the event that the first additional ticket in a chain enhances the prize of the original ticket, the consumer is provided with the option to redeem the original ticket for the enhanced prize or to register additional lottery tickets in a chain. The Digital Gate enabled games also provide for calculating the Expected Value (EV) of games with dynamic prize values.

A method and associated lottery game card/ticket are provided for implementing a ticket-based, multi-component lottery game and includes providing lottery tickets for players, wherein the lottery tickets include a first game component with a first prize structure and at least one additional game component with a separate second prize structure. Abstract:

A system and related method for conducting a lottery game having a televised bonus game component calls for establishing a primary lottery game wherein players are issued lottery tickets. The primary lottery game has a bonus game component and the lottery tickets have a bonus game symbol thereon. For entry into the bonus game, the players are required to collect a predefined set of the bonus game symbols. Periodically, a bonus game drawing is conducted such that at least one of the players entered in the drawing is selected as a winner in each bonus game drawing and becomes eligible for further participation in the bonus game. The bonus game component is coordinated with a televised game show so that contestants in the televised game show are the selected winners from the bonus game drawings. A prize is awarded to winning contestants who competed in the televised game show.

During broadcast of the televised game show, an access code is provided to at-home viewers of the show who are also players of the primary lottery game. The access code enables the at-home viewers to access a website, enter the web code from their lottery ticket, enter the access code broadcast with the televised game show, and play a web-based game to win a prize award.
