Abstract:

A cable connector for connecting a plurality of coaxial cables to a printed circuit board comprises an insulative housing mounted on a printed circuit board, a plurality of signal terminals, a grounding terminal and a snap cover secured on the housing. The housing defines a plurality of first receiving portions for receiving the coaxial cables. Each signal terminal comprises a solder portion soldered on the printed circuit board and a contact portion extending into the corresponding first receiving portion of the housing. The grounding terminal received in the housing comprises a plurality of solder sections soldered to the printed circuit board and a plurality of tabs extending into the first receiving portions for connecting with metal braids of the coaxial cables, establishing grounding connections. The snap cover defines a plurality of second receiving portions corresponding to the first receiving portions of the housing. The coaxial cables are clamped between the first receiving portions and the second receiving portions thereby pressing conductors of the coaxial cables to contact the contact portion of corresponding signal terminals and preventing displacement of the coaxial cables from the cable connector.

Abstract:

An enhanced memory module assembly comprises a memory module including a substrate with a plurality of conductive traces arranged in an edge thereof. A connector includes a first housing having a memory module receiving slot extending along a longitudinal direction thereof. The housing further defines a plurality of terminal cells with a plurality of first terminals assembled therein. Each terminal includes a first end extending into the elongate slot for electrically contacting with the conductive traces. A ZIF device is arranged between the memory module and includes a pair of actuator receiving slots located in the housing and in communicating with the terminal cells, and an actuator attached to the memory module. The actuator includes a pair of actuating plates extending into the actuator receiving slots thereby pushing the terminals in electrical contact with the conductive traces when the memory module is completely inserted therein.

Abstract:

An electrical system includes a printed circuit board with conductive traces formed thereon. An electrical connector includes an insulative base with an array of cells defined therein. Each cell receives and retains a conductive contact having a tail portion corresponding to the conductive traces. Soldering pre-forms are arranged between the conductive traces and the tail portions. A heat distributor includes a thermally conductive base plate positioned on the connector base and thermally conductive pins extending from the base plate. The base plate is positioned on the connector base with the pins inserted into the cells and thermally engaging selected contacts so as to create a homogenous heat transfer to/from the soldering pre-forms thereby eliminating heat stress among the soldering pre-forms.

Abstract:

A reworking device () for removing a socket connector () soldered to a PCB () comprises a body portion () and a pair of movable clips () assembled to the body portion. Each of the movable clips has a hook () for hooking a portion of the socket connector. A spring () is compressively mounted on each of the movable clips for providing an upward force to the hook to pull the socket connector upwardly from the PCB when a soldering connection between the PCB and the socket connector is heated to reflow.
