Abstract:
The present invention employs a generative approach for configuring systems such that a system may be configured based on component or resource requests, or input in the form of need. The present invention provides a constraint-based configuration system using a structural model hierarchy. The structural aspects of the model provide the ability to define a model element as being contained in, or by, another model element. In addition, the structural model provides the ability to identify logical datatype and physical interconnections between elements and establish connections between elements. To configure a system, the present invention accepts input in the form of requests (e. g. , component or resource) or needs, such as an expression of a need for a desktop computer system to be used in a CAD (i. e. , computer-aided design) environment. Using this information, the present invention configures a system by identifying the resource and component needs, constraints imposed on or by the resources or components identified, and the structural aspects of the system.
Method And Apparatus For Providing Peer Ownership Of Shared Objects
A method and apparatus for providing peer ownership of shared objects. In the invention, shared objects are implemented as a shell object with shared object state stored in shared memory. Each process that shares the object is granted a shell object within their process space which points to the object state in shared memory. All processes share equal access to the shared object, with no single process determining the lifetime of the shared object. The shutdown of any single process results in the termination of that processs respective shell object, without the necessary termination of the shared object state in shared memory. There is therefore no shutdown problem. Further, performance is enhanced because all processes access the shared object state in shared memory in what is essentially an in-process call. In an embodiment of the invention, a peer ownership manager acts as the object server for all shared objects whose object state resides in shared memory. A global table is maintained within the peer ownership manager which contains the shared memory offset location of each objects state referenced by the GID (global identifier number) of the object.
Method And Structure For Optimizing Heat Exchanger Performance
A heat exchanger structure including multiple fluid circuits, through which respective streams of a first fluid pass from a stream inlet to a stream outlet to transfer heat to or from a second medium. The fluid circuits are arranged into at least a first group and a second group, at least the first group consisting essentially of only fluid circuits that perform substantially similarly according to at least one selected performance criterion. A control sensor for at least the first group generates a signal representative of a parameter of the first fluid in the associated group. A valve for at least the first group is in fluid communication with of all the streams of the associated group so as to be able to control the flow of fluid through the streams of the associated group in parallel.

Abstract:
A prime lead data commercialization system and method, in at least one embodiment, filters lead data to identify prime leads, provides the prime leads to a recipient, and determines compensation to the lead source based upon conversion rates. By shifting compensation risk to the lead source, the prime lead data source is able to obtain leads from any lead source without introducing arbitrary lead filtering criteria, such as filtering based on historically unacceptable conversion rates that would have otherwise omitted quality leads. The prime lead data source can establish filter criteria that restricts the lead data that the prime lead data source purchases. The prime lead data commercialization system can determine compensation based upon a premium pricing model. Accordingly, the risks of compensation based on conversion rates can be offset by justified premium pricing models for prime leads.
