Abstract:
A method and apparatus are disclosed for accomplishing in-camera stitching of a high-resolution panoramic photograph from a set of component photographs while providing a satisfactory user experience. A low-resolution panorama is stitched, and a user of the camera performs a review of the low-resolution panorama using a display comprised in the camera. During the review, a high-resolution panoramic photograph is stitched by the camera in a background process.

Digital Camera Capable Of Sending Files Via Online Messenger
A digital camera for accepting user intent specifications. The user may input into the camera instructions to send digital pictures created by the camera to recipients via a messenger service. When the camera is connected to a computer or other network with a connection to a messenger service, the digital pictures are automatically sent to the recipient if the recipient is online.

Abstract:
A system and method of organizing a plurality of digital images captured by an image capture device is disclosed. The method comprises associating each of the plurality of digital images with respective ones of a plurality of labels in response to a user activating a labeling button disposed on the image capture device and transferring the plurality of digital images to a plurality of folders of a host system based at least in part on the plurality of labels associated therewith, wherein digital images with identical labels are transferred to the same folder of the plurality of folders.
Document Image Capture Device With Integrated Document Display Screen
A document imaging device comprises a housing, and a document display screen disposed in the housing and operable to display a digitally scanned image of a document generated by a document imaging mechanism. A method of scanning a document using a document imaging device comprising making a preview scan and generating a scanned image of the document, and displaying the scanned image in a document display screen integrally disposed in the document imaging device.

Abstract:
An apparatus and method for cancellation of image signal retransmission by recipient. In one embodiment of the invention, a source device capable of cancelling image signal retransmission from a source device to a target device following an unsuccessful transmission attempt and on receipt of instruction from the target device comprises a first circuit and a second circuit. The first circuit is capable of enabling connection between the source device and the target device via a communication system. When the source device unsuccessfully transmits the image signal to the target device, the first circuit initiates retransmission of the image signal from the source device to the target device at a time following an initial transmission unless otherwise inhibited. The second circuit is communicatively connected to the first circuit, and the second circuit is capable of receiving a control signal from the target device when the source device is connected to the target device. When the control signal meets preselected criteria, the second circuit is capable of inhibiting retransmission of the image signal by the source device.

Abstract:
A log of events that occur to an image file is kept. For example, if the image is e-mailed, printed, edited, etc., the event is recorded in the log. Consequently, a user can review the log and know what has been done with the image file previously. This log is created and maintained automatically. The log may be created when the image file is downloaded to a computer from a digital camera along with a specific instruction or intent of what is to be done immediately with the image file by the computer, e.g., e-mail or print the file. The log may also be created or updated subsequently as the image file is used. The log may be written into the image file or may be written in a separate file that is stored with the image file.
Method And Apparatus For Previewing A Panoramic Image On A Digital Camera

US Classification:

Abstract:
A camera and related methodology in which a stitched panoramic image may be generated from a series of individual image frames onboard the camera and displayed on the camera display in a “real-time” environment. This allows the user to preview the completed panorama on the camera without the need to first upload the image frames onto a support computer. In this manner, the user is able to identify potential problems with the panorama and, if necessary, reacquire the individual image frames. In order to reduce the amount of onboard processor power and/or memory required, stitching may be performed on relatively lower resolution image frame files within the camera. When the preview indicates that image data for the panorama has been successfully acquired, then the full resolution image data may be uploaded to a support computer for processing.
