Abstract:

A system and method for processing volumetric video is disclosed. The process includes receiving three-dimensional mesh data and texture data defining three-dimensional and textural characteristics of a physical location captured as volumetric video, dividing the three-dimensional mesh data into sub-parts defining a mesh tile, each mesh tile making up only a portion of the three-dimensional mesh data, and identifying a sub-part of the texture data defining a texture tile, the texture tile corresponding to each of the sub-parts of the mesh tiles and including only texture data relevant to an associated mesh tile. The volumetric video may be encoded by encoding each mesh tile independent of the three-dimensional mesh data as a mesh tile video and each texture tile independent of the texture data as a texture tile video.

A system and method for selecting a cloud render service for performing rendering from among a plurality of geographically distributed cloud render services based, at least in part, upon a latency between the device and the plurality of geographically distributed cloud render services; instructing the cloud render service to utilize a compute node for rendering the volumetric video; and rendering of the volumetric video on the compute node. The rendering includes receiving positional tracking data from the device indicating a perspective of a viewing device on the volumetric video; rendering a selected volumetric video from the perspective; and generating a two-dimensional video stream to correspond to the perspective of the selected volumetric video.

Abstract:

Aspects of the present disclosure include branching fluid passages in an apparatus that reduce turbulent flow and generate evenly distributed fluid pressure as the fluids branch off into the different passages. In some embodiments, the branching passages may be subdivided into two sets: the branching passages for the liquid fuel and the branching passages for the liquid oxidizer. In some embodiments, the two sets of passages are carefully designed in an elegant yet extremely intricate manner that is optimized for proper fluid flow and maximal burn efficiency. The ends of all of the passages meet at the injector interface, which dispense the liquids into the combustion chamber for ignition. Generally, these designs are achieved through additive manufacturing, and would be extremely difficult, if not impossible, to be manufactured using traditional techniques.

Abstract:

There is disclosed a system and method for encoding and decoding a geometry sequence. The method includes performing intraframe and interframe comparisons of geometry within the geometry sequence, selecting one or more faces as index faces and encoding only the index faces, and the differences relative to those index faces as a bit stream for transmission. The method further includes enabling decoding of the faces based upon the prediction type and encoding method selected during the encoding process.

Aspects of the present disclosure are presented for a combustion engine design with an optimized amount of materials used to generate the necessary components of the engine. The engine may be generated as a single piece, having no joints, fasteners, or any other areas that could present a risk for damage. The designs are described may also reduce weight of the engine, due to eliminating the need for fasteners and other extraneous hardware. In general, the weight of the engine may be optimized to also preclude the inclusion of extraneous material around needed structures. Also, the engine may be designed to be highly energy efficient, with optimal flows for fuel and other fluid with minimal head loss while maintaining higher pressures.

Abstract:

There is disclosed a system and method for streaming of volumetric three-dimensional video content. The system includes a separate rendering server and display device such that the rendering server receives pose and motion data from the mobile device and generates completed frames of video for the mobile device. The frames of video are transmitted to the mobile device for display. Predictive algorithms enable the rendering server to predict display device pose from frame-to-frame to thereby reduce overall latency in communications between the rendering server and display device.
