Abstract:
A vehicle seat assembly comprising a cushion having an “A” surface and a “B” surface, a central portion, and two bolster areas. Each bolster area is adjacent the central portion, with the cushion having a plurality of intrusions extending from the “A” surface towards the “B” surface to form a hardness gradient between at least one of the bolster areas and the central portion of between 8% to 25%.

Abstract:
A vehicle seat cushion composite is provided with a structural layer adapted to be mounted within a vehicle to provide support to an occupant. The structural layer has at least two edge regions provided proximate two edges of the structural layer and an inner region at least partially bound within the at least two edge regions. The at least two edge regions have a plurality of concave channels. A cushion layer is adjacent to the structural layer and has a plurality of concave projections sized to be received within the plurality of concave channels of the structural layer for minimizing lateral movement of the cushion layer relative to the structural layer proximate the edge regions.

A vehicle seat assembly has a seat body adapted to be mounted within a vehicle to provide support to an occupant. A seat component is provided adjacent to the seat body. A first attachment member is provided within one of the seat body and the seat component. A second attachment member is provided on the other of the seat body and the seat component. The second attachment member is engageable within the first attachment member such that the seat component is attached to the seat body through engagement between the first attachment member and the second attachment member.

Abstract:
A vehicle seat assembly having a cushion composite attachable to a vehicle. The cushion composite has a structural layer of an expanded polymer and a cushion layer adjacent the structural layer. A trim material covers the cushion composite. The structural layer is proximate the vehicle when the cushion composite is attached to the vehicle. A surface of the structural layer defines a cavity extending into the structural layer. An opening of the cavity is disposed proximate the vehicle when the cushion composite is attached to the vehicle. The cavity is configured to facilitate flexure of the structural layer when a force is applied to the structural layer.
