Abstract:

A tissue repair assembly is disclosed, including a soft anchor body and at 5 least a first suture operably coupled to the anchor body. Tensioning on first and/or second ends of first suture may deploy the anchor body to a second configuration, in which the anchor body is axially compressed and radially extended. The tissue repair assembly may also include a means to cinch around a portion of a first and/or second suture and knotlessly lock the tissue repair assembly. Some embodiments 10 may include a pre-formed knot. In some embodiments, the preformed knot may be a nail knot, provided wrapped around an insertion instrument and configured to receive and cinch around a suture extending therethrough.

Abstract:

Anchor delivery systems include markings on the surfaces of the delivery device which are visually exposed to the user through openings or fenestrations in the anchor, providing visual feedback to the user on the progress of the anchor's insertion. A suture-locking plug is deformable within the anchor tip, thereby enhancing suture entrapment within the tip of the anchor. A compliant component of the handle places the handle components in tension, thereby absorbing built-in axial looseness in the handle. The handle further includes a spin cavity which allows for free spin of the inserter shaft to finalize insertion of the anchor into bone when the anchor has not been fully seated flush with or below the cortical bone surface.

Abstract:

An anchor delivery system includes both a straight and curved drill guide along with a flexible drill, a flexible obturator and a flexible anchor inserter. The curved drill guide has a distal tip with approximately a 15 bend from the primary axis of the drill guide. Both the drill and the obturator have a reduced diameter section to improve flexibility during passage through the curved drill guide. Additionally, a surface of the inserter shaft has a laser cut pattern which permits flexing of the inserter around the inner diameter of the curved drill guide.

Abstract:

The present invention is generally directed to an orthopedic device for use with an orthopedic cast, which can alleviate the itching sensation that can develop when a patient wears a cast, among other advantages, such as cooling the skin below the cast, reducing the moisture in the region between the skin and the cast, as well as in some cases reducing the risk of infection. As discussed in more detail below, the orthopedic device can include a sleeve that can be mounted onto a body part, e.g., a broken limb, between the skin and a surgical cast. The sleeve is sufficiently flexible so as to substantially conform to the contour of the body part. The sleeve includes a plurality of internal channels for receiving a gas from an external source, e.g., a canister of pressurized gas, and for delivering at least a portion of the received gas via a plurality of openings onto the skin below the cast. The sleeve can include a two opposed layers between which the internal channels are formed.
