Abstract:
A checkers game having two sets of twelve square pieces played on a sixty-four square board. Each checker of one set has a positive magnetic pole imbedded in one vertical side face. Each checker of the other set having a negative magnetic pole imbedded in one vertical side face. An opponent's checker is captured by moving an attacking checker adjacent an opponent's checker and successfully orienting the attacking checker piece such that its magnetic pole directly faces the opposite magnetic pole of the opponent's checker piece thereby causing a magnetic attraction. The two players make alternative moves by moving one square forward, sideways, back, diagonally, rotating a piece ninety or one hundred-eighty degrees, or over an adjacent piece in a jump. The play continues until one player removes all the checkers of his opponent.

Abstract:
An apparatus or attachment to a wheelchair to allow a patient to move the chair in a forward, reverse, right or left direction. The apparatus comprises a push rod, spring mounted, actuating at a first end a pawl capable of engaging a ratchet axially mounted on a mounting plate attached to the side of the chair. A hand operated shift element activates a cam roller to move the push rod at a second end in a vertical direction. A bicycle type multi linked gear and chain connects the ratchet to the rear driving wheels of the chair. Movement of the push rod in its vertical position changes gears and a handle attached to the top of the push rod assembly permits movement of the chair by direct drive to the bicycle chain. A linkage connecting the push rod housing to the front mounted caster wheel allows the patient to move the caster wheels by turning the push rod handle connected to its housing.

Abstract:
A hemisphere with an integral outer flange is attached to the flat bottom surface of a chair. A cone shaped base depends from the convex bottom of the hemisphere and is separated from the hemisphere by an annular member having a multiplicity of roller bearings seated on its top surface and in contact with the convex surface of the hemisphere. The cone base has a flat bottom plate connected to the first end of a turn-buckle. A second end of the turn-buckle is connected to a spring connected in turn to the hemisphere. An increase or decrease in the tension exerted on the the spring controls the degree of rocking of the chair.
