Abstract:

A system for shielding personnel and/or equipment from radiation particles. In one embodiment, a first substrate is connected to a first array or perpendicularly oriented metal-like fingers, and a second, electrically conducting substrate has an array of carbon nanostructure (CNS) fingers, coated with an electro-active polymer extending toward, but spaced apart from, the first substrate fingers. An electric current and electric charge discharge and dissipation system, connected to the second substrate, receives a current and/or voltage pulse initially generated when the first substrate receives incident radiation. In another embodiment, an array of CNSs is immersed in a first layer of hydrogen-rich polymers and in a second layer of metal-like material. In another embodiment, a one- or two-dimensional assembly of fibers containing CNSs embedded in a metal-like matrix serves as a radiation-protective fabric or body covering.

Abstract:

A method of auto white balancing, including, receiving an original image, determining an RG logarithmic ratio of a set of red to green channel values of the original image, determining a BG logarithmic ratio of a set of blue to green channel values of the original image, determine an original two-dimensional histogram utilizing the RG logarithmic ratio and the BG logarithmic ratio, determine a Gaussian-blur two-dimensional histogram utilizing the RG logarithmic ratio and the BG logarithmic ratio, determining a sharpened two-dimensional histogram of a sharpened image utilizing the RG logarithmic ratio and the BG logarithmic ratio, determining a Laplacian-edge two-dimensional histogram of a Laplacian-edge image utilizing the RG logarithmic ratio and the BG logarithmic ratio and determining a white balancing gain utilizing a neural network based on the original 2D histogram, the Gaussian-blur 2D histogram, the sharpened 2D histogram and the Laplacian-edge 2D histogram.

Abstract:

A method of defect pixel correction, includes, receiving at least one center pixel signal in a plurality of frames, receiving a plurality of neighboring pixel signals adjacent the center pixel in the plurality of frames, determining a brightness of the center pixel signal, determining the brightness of the plurality of neighboring pixel signals, determining if the brightness of the center pixel signal exceeds a wounded pixel threshold of the plurality of neighboring pixel signals, determining a location of the center pixel having the brightness greater than the wounded pixel threshold in at least one frame, determining a number of reoccurrences of the center pixel having the brightness greater than the wounded pixel threshold, determining if the number of reoccurrences exceeds a defect pixel threshold and updating the at least one center pixel signal to a mean of the plurality of neighboring pixel signals.

A chart for calibrating a system of multiple cameras, the chart comprising: a background; an array of dots contrasting the background, wherein the array of dots are arranged in rows and columns, wherein the array of dots comprise a first dot array, and a second dot array, wherein the first dot array fully occupies a first region of evenly spaced dots with a first dot density, the second dot array fully occupies a second region of evenly spaced dots with a second dot density, and wherein the second region is enclosed within the first region; a group of first markers in the first region, a group of second markers in the second region, and a third marker at the center of the chart, wherein each second marker is closer to the third marker than each first marker.
