Abstract:

A method for reporting a power outage to a communications controller includes detecting the power outage, and selecting a transmission slot from a plurality of transmission slots in order to report the power outage to the communications controller, the transmission slot selected according to a non-uniform probability distribution function, the non-uniform probability distribution function is monotonic with time after the power outage. The method also includes transmitting a first power outage indicator to the communications controller in the transmission slot selected.

Abstract:

Mipmaps are used to optimize image rendering by intelligently determining which generated mipmaps can be reused and then storing the reusable mipmaps in cache for quick retrieval later. A graphic transformation application (GTA) working with or executed by a graphics processing unit (GPU) identifies images to be rendered on a screen and effects to be applied such images. Transforms to carry out the effects are charged with generating mipmaps of the images, and the GTA monitors the generated mipmaps and images to be rendered to determine what mipmaps to cache for future transforms.

Abstract:

The present embodiments relate to data center outage detection and alert generation. An outage detection service as described herein can process near real-time data from various sources in a datacenter and process the data using a model to determine one or more projected sources of a detected outage. The model as described herein can include one or more machine learning models incorporating a series of rules to process near-real time data and offline data and determine one or more projected sources of an outage. An alert message can be generated to provide the projected sources of the outage and other data relevant to the outage.
