Abstract:

A method and system identifies, fixes, and updates security vulnerabilities in a host computer or host computers. The present invention can communicate between a scanner with plug-in capability, an operating system, and an express update package. The architectural set-up can allow exploits within the scanner and exploits in the express update package to function with no knowledge of each other. The user also needs no knowledge of whether the exploits are within the scanner or the express update package. Mutual authentication procedures can enable the scanner to load only legitimate express update packages, and can provide that express update packages can only be loaded into legitimate scanners.

Abstract:

A card head for supplying pile fibers to a knitting machine is disclosed herein along with a method for using same. Precarded, pre cut fibers in sliver form are presented to a fluted roll in proximity to a highly polished nose guide. Sliver is fed therethrough to a clothed main cylinder rotating at a higher speed than the fluted roll to separate cut fibers from the sliver. Flats or the like are secured around a portion of the main cylinder and cooperate with the main cylinder in proper alignment of fibers floating thereon. A doffer roll is positioned adjacent the end of the flats, barely out of contact with the card clothing and rotating at a higher speed than the main cylinder. Teeth on the doffer thus remove the fibers from the main cylinder and properly present same to knitting needles passing thereacross. The card head is provided with cover plates to control air flow therethrough which assists in floating of the fibers and proper operation thereof. Likewise, a combination air-guide arrangement is employed to properly position the fibers around the shank of the needles preparatory to knitting.

A method can use the ashes of pet or human remains and combining them with natural materials and chemical stabilizers to form, under high pressure, strong building materials. These internment blocks can be formed in an unlimited variety of shapes and weights and can be used to build permanent structures. The ashes are forever protected from the elements and are in a final resting place as part of the memorial structure. The building blocks require zero perpetual care and can last up to or beyond 1000 years. The building blocks can be designed into a lasting memorial of the size and scope desired. In their final cured state, the building blocks can be as hard as stone and impervious to moisture.
