A tabbing apparatus is provided that includes a pocket and a tab element disposed within the pocket in a retracted position. The tab element includes an indexing segment configured for protruding from the pocket in an extended position as a tab and for being received within the pocket in the retracted position, an anchor portion attached to the pocket, and an intermediate portion connecting the anchor portion and indexing segment and configured for folding to allow the indexing segment to move between the retracted position and the extended position. The indexing segment is configured for displaying writing thereon for indexing a file.
A substrate cutting system for performing a substrate cutting operation wherein a substrate portion is cut from a selected substrate comprises a cutter guide and a substrate cutter. The cutter and the cutter guide enable the substrate cutting operation to be performed by engaging a substrate engaging surface of the cutter guide with the selected substrate, penetrating the selected substrate with a blade of the cutter, and then moving the cutter with guidable and guiding surfaces of the cutter and cutter guide, respectively, engaged with one another such that the guiding and guidable surfaces cooperate to guide the cutter so that the cutting edge of the blade cuts the selected substrate along a cutting path generally similar to the guiding surface to cut the substrate portion from the selected substrate and provide the substrate portion with a peripheral geometric shape determined by the cutting path.

Abstract:
An article laminating apparatus is provided for use with a cartridge having a detectable element indicative of a characteristic of laminating materials. The apparatus includes a frame enabling the cartridge to be removably mounted thereto and an article processing assembly carried on the frame. A control system controls the article processing assembly to perform an article processing operation. The apparatus also includes a detector operable to detect the detectable element on the cartridge. The detector is operable to transmit a signal to the control system based on the detectable element on the cartridge. The control system is operable to adjust at least one parameter of the operation based on the signal.

Abstract:
A method of converting a master processing apparatus for performing a master processing operation wherein adhesive bonding is affected between a pair of stock materials and a master received therebetween from a first configuration configured for use with a pair of individual removable feed rolls to a second configuration configured for use with a cartridge including a cartridge body and a pair of feed rolls rotatably mounted on the cartridge body. The apparatus in at least its first configuration includes a frame and a master processing assembly. The method includes mounting a cartridge support assembly to the frame, the cartridge support assembly being constructed to support the cartridge in an operative position wherein the stock materials on the feed rolls of the cartridge can be fed into the master processing assembly for performance of the master processing operation.

Abstract:
A binder for holding documents is disclosed. The binder has a spine with a pair of cover flaps attached to each side of the spine. Attached to the spine is a latching device, also referred to as a locking device, that includes a first retaining member, a latching member, and a second retaining member. The first and second retaining members are parallel to each other and extend perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the spine. The binder is configured to hold a plurality of document modules, each of which hold a set of documents, which are flexible sheets of material, such as paper or plastic. Each module has first and second ends. The first end is contoured to mate with a portion of an external profile of the first retaining member. The second end attaches to the second retaining member. The latching member moves between a latched position where it engages the first end of the module and an unlatched position where it is not engaged to the first end of said module.
