Brian was born and raised in Bergen County, New Jersey. After attending Mannes College of music in Manhattan, where he was a classical piano major, he joined his family's trucking and warehousing firm. Working with his brother John and father Ray, the company enjoyed explosive growth for 12 years before selling to a much larger distribution partner in 1998. After moving to Florida in 2000 to run two busy restaurants and building a successful catering business in Boca Grande and Cape Haze, Brian obtained his Florida Sales Associate Real Estate License in 2004. After working for 4 years on Boca Grande and the surrounding areas, Brian obtained his Florida Real Estate Broker license and opened The BRC Group, LLC Boca Grande, FL on November 1st, 2008. While establishing The BRC Group LLC as one of the premier real estate companies specializing in luxury properties in Boca Grande and Placida, Brian purchased Boca Grande Vacations in November 2013. This acquisition enables The BRC Group LLC to provide vacation rentals as an added service to our existing and future customers. With this expansion we now offer over 75 vacation rental properties as well as a second real estate office located in the Boca Grande North clubhouse, which is the first real estate company that customers see when coming on the island. Brian is a founding Director of The Taste of Boca Grande which as an annual event starting 12 years ago has raised over $340,000 to date for The Harry Chapin Food Bank and lives in Englewood with his wife Sigrid and two sons, Matthew (15) and Andrew (12). Brian and his family enjoy being members of the Lemon Bay Golf Club as well as social members of the Coral Creek Club. A combination featuring a housing supporting a clock circuit with an internal clock, and an audio frequency generating apparatus integrated into the housing, in which the clock circuit is manually operated only in a first preferred embodiment is disclosed; while the clock circuit is responsive to a pre-selected frequency of the audio frequency generating apparatus in a second preferred embodiment is further disclosed. Preferably, the audio frequency generating apparatus takes the form of a whistle that incorporates a plurality of tone notches. Each tone notch produces an audible frequency slightly out of phase with the audible frequencies produced by the remaining tone notches. When a user selects an automatic mode for operating the combination in the second preferred embodiment, one of the plurality of frequencies produced by the tone notches (having been previously selected) is sampled by the clock circuit to activate and deactivate the internal clock.

Abstract:

A system for utility safety monitoring is disclosed. In an embodiment, the system includes a utility fluid meter coupled with a home or business structure, a local control unit, a home appliance with a failure sensor, a monitoring control center, and one or more shut-off valves. The failure sensor is coupled with an Internet of Things (IOT) platform such as a NodeMCU unit. The failure sensor detects a failure event of the home appliance and sends a notification to the local control unit. The local control unit then shuts down the one or more shut-off valves and sends notifications to a utility company and an owner of the home or business structure. The shut-off valve has a locking mechanism including a diaphragm, a locking component, a magnetic solenoid, and a locking shaft with a locking notch indicating a closed position.
