Abstract:

A device of any material, shape, size, texture, style, color, configuration, and orientation that is affixed, secured, or is an integral part to a staircase handguide, to a handguide support or frame, or to a sidewall. The device provides anyone, ascending or descending the stairs, with a tactile cue that indicates the pedestrian's approach to a final step in a series of steps. A pedestrian senses the tactile indicator to determine when he or she is at the last step so as to change accordingly his or her walking or motion. This safety indicator is intended for the public at large. A pedestrian without sight, with impaired or limited sight, or with compromised sight (due to power outage, light-source outage, smoke-filled stairwell, temporary blindness, etc. ) can negotiate stairs with greatly increased safety, speed, and confidence.

Abstract:

According to one embodiment a transaction processing system includes a first system controller and a second system controller coupled to the first system controller. The transaction processing system further includes a second multi-media system coupled to the second system controller. While the transaction processing system is operating in a normal mode, transactions are transmitted by the first multi-media system. Furthermore, transactions are received by both the first and second multi-media system. According to a further embodiment, transactions are transmitted and received by the second multi-media system upon the failure of the first multi-media system.

Abstract:

Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments providing a personalized interaction and navigation system. An embodiment operates by receiving, during a computing session, an indication of a first interaction with a currently accessed document stored in a computing system. It is determined that the first document is not included in the set of previously accessed documents. A new tab is added to the interface corresponding to the currently accessed document based upon the determining. The new tab is maintained on the interface for the duration of the computing session, wherein upon completion of the computing session, a determination is made whether to persist the tab beyond the computing session based on a request or to automatically remove the tab from the interface and the cache.
