Abstract:

A method and system for augmented neurologic rehabilitation (ANR) of a patient is disclosed. The ANR system generates rhythmic auditory stimulus (RAS) and a visual augmented reality (AR) scene that are synchronized according to a common beat tempo and output to the patient during a therapy session. Sensor worn by the patient capture biomechanical data relating to repetitive movements performed by the patient in sync with the AR visual content and RAS. A critical thinking algorithm analyzes the sensor data to determine a spatial and temporal relationship of the patient's movements relative to the visual and audio elements and determine a level of entrainment of the patient and progression toward clinical/therapeutic goals. Additionally, a 3D AR modelling module configures the processor to dynamically adjust the augmented-reality visual and audio content output to the patient based on the determined level of entrainment and whether a training goal has been achieved.

Abstract:

A method and system for rehabilitation of a patient having a physical impairment by providing repetitive motion therapy is disclosed. The system is configured to receive biomechanical data from the patient regarding repetitive movements of the patient performed using a first and second side of the body, respectively, and select, based on the data, an entrainment side according to which repetitive motion therapy is provided. The system further performs repetitive motion therapy by: providing the patient auditory stimulus comprising beat signals output at respective beat times; receiving time-stamped biomechanical data for repetitive movements performed by the patient using the entrainment side in relation to the respective beat times of the beat signals; calculating an entrainment potential for the entrainment side by comparing a timing of the repetitive movements to the timing of the beat signals; and modifying the auditory stimulus as a function of the calculated entrainment potential.

Abstract:

Disclosed is an example for determining miss distance and bullet speed of a burst of bullets. In one example, shock wave (SW) vectors emanating from bullets are estimated using a first sensor. Further, firing point (FP) vectors and closest-point-of-approach (CPA) vectors emanating from the bullets are estimated using a second sensor. The first sensor and the second sensor are disposed on a platform. The SW vectors, the FP vectors and the CPA vectors are determined as emanating from the burst of bullets. The miss distance and bullet speed of the burst of bullets are determined using the FP vectors, the SW vectors, and the CPA vectors that are emanating from the burst of bullets.

Abstract:

Disclosed is an example for determining a projectile trajectory with at least two sensors. In one example, the projectile trajectory is estimated using a first sensor having a first angular range. Further, the projectile trajector is estimated using a second sensor having a second angular range. The first sensor and the second sensor are disposed on a platform at different spatial locations. Furthermore, a discrepancy in the projectile trajectory is determined when the projectile moves from the first angular range to the second angular range. The discrepancy is created due to the different spatial locations of the first sensor and the second sensor. An actual projectile trajectory is determined by compensating for the discrepancy in the projectile trajectory using the estimated discrepancy.
