A soda-lime-silica glass-ceramic article having an amorphous matrix phase and a crystalline phase is disclosed along with a method of manufacturing a soda-lime-silica glass-ceramic article from a parent glass composition comprising 47-63 mol % SiO, 15-22 mol % NaO, and 18-36 mol % CaO. The crystalline phase of the glass-ceramic article has a higher concentration of sodium (Na) than that of the amorphous matrix phase.

Abstract:
A soda-lime-silica glass-ceramic article having an amorphous matrix phase and a crystalline phase is disclosed along with a method of manufacturing a soda-lime-silica glass-ceramic article from a parent glass composition comprising 47-63 mol % SiO, 15-22 mol % NaO, and 18-36 mol % CaO.
