She attended DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. After several years of practicing nursing in labor and delivery, the operating room, and a post-renal transplant unit, Carol retired from nursing to begin raising her family. She lived in Houston, Texas for several years and then moved to Charlotte, NC to raise her daughter, Virginia, and her son, Kevin. As a new mother, Carol began a successful career in advertising and promotions which lasted over two decades. Her many clients included NBC, NBC News Channel, Duke Energy and various non-profit organizations in the Charlotte area. She became a real estate broker in 2003 and has flourished in this career choice. Carol has achieved a GRI designation from the Graduate Realtors Institute, is a Certified Short Sale Specialist, and is currently completing her Certified Residential Specialist designation. Carol discovered Lake Toxaway in 1990 while taking her children to summer camp and subsequently bought property in Lake Toxaway Estates. She found, "It didn't take long to realize that just spending weekends in Lake Toxaway was not enough. I yearned to be here and call this glorious place home." Carol did just that in 2001. Carol relishes traveling, especially with her two children, and has experienced countries around the world. Her interests include photography, hiking, scuba diving, new adventures such as hang gliding, and the Toxaway Falls Garden Club, for which she served as a previous president, and is a trustee for the Transylvania Regional Hospital Foundation. Carol lives in Lake Toxaway Estates with her two cats, Chulo and Mille.
