Farfan is the second Bolivian minister to resign over the crackdown after Defense Minister Cecilia Chacon resigned on Monday to protest against the government decision to crackdown on the protest march.In the letter informing President Evo Morales of her "irrevocable" resignation, Cecilia Chacon reportedly said: "I do not agree with the intervention in the march and I cannot justify the measure when other alternatives existed."
The raid was criticised by opposition leaders, the ombudsman and several government officials including the defence minister, Cecilia Chacon, who quit in protest. "This is not the way! We agreed to do things differently," Chacon wrote in her resignation letter, which was published by Bolivian media.
