  • System And Method For Dynamically Rendering Bounded Region Labels On A Moving Map Display

    view source
  • US Patent:
    20130093794, Apr 18, 2013
  • Filed:
    Oct 18, 2011
  • Appl. No.:
    13/276033
  • Inventors:
Charles Dairman - Buckeye AZ, US
Mark Pearson - Peoria AZ, US
  • Assignee:
HONEYWELL INTERNATIONAL INC. - Morristown NJ
  • International Classification:
    G09G 5/00
  • US Classification:
    345672
  • Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are provided for dynamically rendering, on a moving map display having a viewable area, a label associated with a bounded region. Moving map data are processed to determine if the bounded region has a viewable boundary, and to determine a perimeter of one or more polygons that are each defined by intersections of the viewable boundary of the bounded region and the viewable area. Commands are supplied to the moving map display that cause the moving map display to continuously render the label associated with the bounded region at a position within the one or more polygons that is closest to a predetermined point on the moving map display.

    H04L 12/725
    H04W 88/16
    G07C 5/00
    H04L 29/08
  • Abstract:
Systems and methods are disclosed for exchanging real-time data between vehicle systems by receiving, at a first source system, a request for data from a requestor and, based on determining that the first source system does not have all requested data, querying an operations center for missing data. Then, based on determining that the operations center does not have all missing data, the operations center is queried for a list comprising candidate source systems. Upon identifying a next source system from the list, the next source system is queried for missing data, and the next source system is removed from the list. Based on whether the next source system has all missing data, either all missing data is transmitted to the requestor, or, the process of finding and querying for the missing data is iteratively performed until all missing data is received or the list is empty.
