Abstract:
A replaceable tip cap for attachment to the end of a rotor blade. The tip cap includes a plurality of walls defining a compartment which, if desired, can be divided into a plurality of subcompartments. The tip cap can include inlet and outlet holes in walls thereof to permit fluid communication of a cooling fluid therethrough. Abrasive material can be attached with the radially outer wall of the tip cap.

Abstract:
A funnel for use in connection with reusable plastic bottles or containers includes a body portion and a spout portion extending from the body portion to a lower open end. The spout portion is formed of downwardly extending inner and outer portions in spaced apart relation from one another to define a gap therebetween sized for receiving an upper portion of a fill spout of the plastic bottle. The outer portion has an interior surface facing the inner portion. A lower portion of the interior surface has an inwardly upwardly tapered portion adapted for receiving an outwardly extending portion of the fill spout in pressing engagement therewith to allow inward compression of the outwardly extending portion against the interior surface.

Abstract:
A rotatable disc comprising a plurality of generally parallel plates tightly joined together for rotation about a hub. Each plate is provided with a plurality of angularly spaced lands projecting from a face thereof, the lands of each plate interposed in alternating relationship between the lands of the next adjacent plate. In this manner, circumferential displacement of adjacent sectors in any one plate is prevented in the event that a crack develops therein. Each plate is redundantly sized such that, in event of structural failure of one plate, the remaining plates can support a proportionate share of the load of the failed plate. In one embodiment, the plates are prevented from separating laterally through the inclusion of generally radially extending splines which are inserted to interlock cooperating, circumferentially adjacent lands.

Abstract:
A cleaning device for surgical implements comprising a base and upstanding bristles, including at least one sharp vertical edge and a flat top. The bristles of one section are short and rigid, the bristles of the second section are long are relatively flexible, and the bristles of an intermediate section vary in length from short to long with a substantial portion of the intermediate bristles being relatively rigid so that a suction tube can be cleaned by pressing it downwardly over the bristles. The base carries a resilient pad and a securing member such as a double-faced adhesive tape for mounting the unit upon a support surface.

Abstract:
A seal structure between first and second relatively moveable members for preventing gas flow in the space between the members and transverse to their general direction of motion is disclosed. The seal structure includes a plurality of substantially parallel strips within 30. degree. of normal to the radial plane generally containing these first and second relatively moveable members. The strips are thin and closely spaced and arranged so that one strip edge is attached to the first member and another edge is free to resiliently deflect when in rubbing contact with the second member.

Abstract:
A turbine shroud includes a ceramic sealing layer secured to a metal substrate. In one form, the metal substrate includes a plurality of pegs extending therefrom. Intermediate bonding layers are disposed on the peg-metal substrate structure. A ceramic sealing layer of zirconium oxide with about 20 weight percentage magnesium oxide is disposed, e. g. , plasma sprayed, on the intermediate bonding layers. The ceramic sealing layer includes an ordered pattern of very fine cracks therein which reduce the thermal stress in the ceramic sealing layer. A method of constructing a turbine shroud structure is also disclosed.
