  • Terminal Housing For An Electrical Resistance Heater

    view source
  • US Patent:
    40298965, Jun 14, 1977
  • Filed:
    Oct 22, 1975
  • Appl. No.:
    5/624697
  • Inventors:
Charles A. Skinner - Columbia MD
  • Assignee:
    Electro-Therm, Inc. - Laurel MD
  • International Classification:
    H01R 1348
    H05B 306
    H01R 1358
  • US Classification:
    174138F
  • Abstract:
A terminal housing for surface-type resistance heating elements includes interlocking housing sections which snap together to form compartments in which connections to the heating elements are mechanically and electrically protected. The use of identical housing sections with integral locking and strain relief provisions allows the terminal housing to be used with a wide variety of types of connections without the need for a large inventory of components.
  • Flexing Device For Holding A Surface Electric Heating Element In A Raised Position

    view source
  • US Patent:
    41896335, Feb 19, 1980
  • Filed:
    Jun 12, 1978
  • Appl. No.:
    5/914874
  • Inventors:
Charles A. Skinner - Columbia MD
  • Assignee:
    Electro-Therm, Inc. - Laurel MD
  • International Classification:
    H05B 368
  • US Classification:
    219458
  • Abstract:
The flexing device comprises a strip of metal adapted to be secured to the underside of a drip pan in which a planar formation of a surface electric heating element is disposed. Terminal legs and portions connecting the terminal legs to the planar formation pass through apertures in the bottom of the drip pan and are engaged by the flexing device. A base portion of the flexing device is secured to the center of the underside of the pan. First and second arms of the flexing device extend from the base portion of the flexing device and frictionally and resiliently engage the terminal legs and connecting portions. The second arm is struck from the base portion and is bent outwardly from the base portion to provide an open space which is aligned with the aperture for one terminal leg and connecting portion. The second arm has a first section extending at an angle from the base portion, a V-shaped bend and a second section extending at an angle toward the plane of the base portion. A tab is struck from the second section to provide an open space which is aligned with the aperture for the other terminal leg and connecting portion.
  • Terminal For A Resistance Heating Element

    view source
  • US Patent:
    40614123, Dec 6, 1977
  • Filed:
    Dec 15, 1975
  • Appl. No.:
    5/636475
  • Inventors:
Charles A. Skinner - Laurel MD
  • Assignee:
    Electro-Therm, Inc. - Laurel MD
  • International Classification:
    H01R 1126
  • US Classification:
    339263R
  • Abstract:
An improved terminal for a sheathed resistance heating element includes a body portion, and a tab portion folded over and connected to the body portion by a neck portion of reduced width. A first aperture for receiving a large size threaded fastener is provided on the body portion, and a second aperture axially-aligned with the first aperture is provided on the tab portion for receiving a smaller sized threaded fastener. The tab portion is dimensioned for sliding engagement with a standard female quick-connect type connector.
  • Proactive Cognitive Analysis For Inferring Test Case Dependencies

    view source
  • US Patent:
    20180121332, May 3, 2018
  • Filed:
    Dec 26, 2017
  • Appl. No.:
    15/854257
  • Inventors:
    - Armonk NY, US
Andrew R. Freed - Cary NC, US
Richard A. Salmon - Apex NC, US
Charles S. Skinner - Cary NC, US
  • International Classification:
    G06F 11/36
  • Abstract:
Mechanisms are provided for evaluating test cases for testing a software product based on a requirements change. The mechanisms analyze a test case corpus to identify a plurality of first relationships between elements of test cases in the test case corpus and generate a test case relationship model based on the identified plurality of first relationships. The mechanisms receive a proposed requirements change to change one or more requirements of the software product and then perform a search of the test case relationship model to identify test case relationships corresponding to the proposed requirements change. The mechanisms identify a subset of test cases affected by the proposed requirements change and generate an output specifying the identified subset of test cases.

    G06F 17/28
    G06F 17/30
  • Abstract:
An approach is provided in which an information handling system analyzes correction information corresponding to an answer generated by a question answer system. The correction information includes a correction to the answer and captured variable information utilized by the question answer system to generate the answer. The information handling system selects input variables based upon the correction analysis and generates a test case that includes the selected input variables and the variable information. In turn, the information handling system tests the question answer system using the generated test case.
