An automatic closed loop power control system is described for simultaneously adjusting an output power and an extinction ratio P/Pof a laser diode in order to maintain a desired average output power and a desired extinction ratio. The bias current component of a laser diode drive current is adjusted to compensate for changes in the average output power caused by ambient characteristics such as temperature and aging. Simultaneously, a modulation current component of the laser diode drive current is adjusted to maintain an extinction ratio of the laser diode output signal. The bias current and modulation current adjustments are based on the second order statistics of an average output power of the laser diode and a variance in the power output of the laser diode.

Abstract:
A multi-dimensional Burst Link Access Streaming Transmission (BLAST) architecture, which provides flexible physical apparatus for balanced performance of data throughput, latency, and reliability of transmission (e.g. graceful degradation). A schedule is sent from a master node to alert targeted nodes regarding messages to be sent. The master node uses a P-Band transmission link operating a regular intervals to synchronize the system in preparation for receipt of a message over a synchronous link. Each node has the capability of sending and receiving synchronous and asynchronous messages.

Abstract:
Various implementations disclosed herein provide feedback to a user during object scanning based on how well sensor data of the scanned object has been captured. During object scanning a user may move an electronic device with sensors (e.g., cameras, depth sensors, etc.) around an object to capture sensor data for use in generating a final 3D model of the object. Live feedback during the scanning process is enabled by assessing how well the captured sensor data represents different portions of the object. In some implementations, a 3D model is generated, updated, and assessed based on the sensor data live during the scanning process. This live 3D model may be coarser (i.e., having fewer details) than the final 3D model.
