• Where does it end? Its hard to believe you can hunt on a persons land without their permission. Im shocked, Kevin Wood, now 60 and living in Iowa, told the Herald yesterday about the wounding of Cheryl Blair, 66, on Saturday, by black-powder rifle hunter John Bergeron, a neighbor.Bergeron told police he mistook a golden retriever for a deer in the waning minutes of hunting season as Cheryl Blair walked her dogs on a trail near her house. Bergeron has not responded to requests for comment from the Herald. Police said he was properly licensed and faces no criminal charges.
