Abstract:

A video apparatus and method are described for controlling video frame error recovery in a streaming video session. Frame error recovery is activated and deactivated by a frame error recovery automaton. Frame error recovery is activated by a first frame error in the video data stream. The automaton monitors the video session, maintaining recovery if a further error is detected. The automaton monitors the data stream for a predetermined frame error probation period.

Abstract:

Image data from a capture device may be streamed from the capture device to a processor-based system. A motion detector associated with the capture device may provide a bit that is incorporated into the image data stream in place of image data, in one embodiment of the present invention. This bit may be decoded in a processor-based system to control how the image data stream, received from the capture device, is handled.

Abstract:

A table-driven, integer-based method for approximating down sampling of wave data is disclosed. This method provides an efficient approximation of the desired down sampled wave data without a significant impact to overall system performance. Integer calculations are exploited by: (1) multiplying all values of tby a large enough value to include all significant portions of the decimal value; (2) making all values of t integer values; and (3) using integer arithmetic for most calculations of t and t. The following static integer tables assist in the final calculations: (1) T[ ], where each element contains the value of tdivided by t and multiplied by a large enough value, M, to place all significant decimal values to the left of the decimal; and (2) D[ ], where each element contains the number of samples of Sato drop before arriving at a useable Saand Sapair.
