Parish, state respond after brain-eating amoeba kills child
State tests show that several areas in the parish including near where the boy became infected showed low chlorine levels in the water, Christina Stephens, a DHH spokeswoman, told The New Orleans Advocate in an email Friday.
As a child, Christina Stephens filled her parents' basement with Lego castles and pirate ships. When she put her Lego-building skills to work last month making a prosthetic leg out of the children's toy, she became an Internet sensation.
Occupational therapist and clinical researcher Christina Stephens, of St. Louis, made a prosthetic leg out of Legos. Stephens recorded the two-day process from beginning to end and put it on YouTube. She said it took two hours to fit the Lego prosthetic on to herself, and she ends the video modeling
