Amgen Signs Seven-Year Epogen Sales Agreement With DaVita
DaVita to use Epogen for atleast 90 percent of its anemia medicines, according to a filingwith the Securities and Exchange Commission. Christine Regan, aspokeswoman for Thousand Oaks, California-based Amgen, declinedto provide financial details of the agreement, which expires atthe end of 2018.
The medication, motesanib, didn't meet its main goal of improving survival in a study of 1,090 patients with non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer, the companies said Wednesday. Amgen and Osaka, Japan-based Takeda haven't decided whether to continue developing the drug, said Christine Regan, an Amgen spokeswoman.
