Lawyers say lawsuits are still pouring in against a number of mesh makers including Johnson & Johnson and C.R. Bard who lost its appeal to overturn a $5.5 million verdict in the case of Christine Scott. Scott had 8 surgeries to correct erosion caused by the companys Avaulta mesh.
Jurors in state court in Bakersfield, California, concludedJuly 20 that Christine Scott and her husband deserved the damageaward because of injuries caused by Bards Avaulta Plus vaginalimplant, Elaine Houghton, one of the couples lawyers, said in aphone interview yesterday.
